Updated Photos

Here are a few more recent pictures of Gabe. I really have so many but I don't want to bore you by putting tons of pictures on here. We are always taking pictures. He is smiling a lot more and getting so big so fast !
This was taken when BYU vs UTAH game was on. I think Gabe lost interest after the 4th interception was thrown;) He sure does look sweet!

We were able to get a little smile out of him.

Joe's sister got Gabe this hat. Too bad the only one that really
turned out well had my hand in it!

Just a cute one.

This was Gabe's first real outing. We went to pick out a Christmas Tree. It was pretty cold so we dressed him in this. It is a little big but still cute.

Welcome Baby Gabe!!!

Well the boy has finally come. After struggling so long with a name we decided on Joseph Gabriel and will call him Gabe. He was 8lbs and 5oz and was 20 inches long. Everything went really well with the labor and wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I think the epidural wore off towards the end so you might notice in one of the pictures after birth where I do not look too happy. It is because I was in A LOT of pain. It wasn't the labor part that was painful. I was more sore afterwards. Anyways our little boy is doing great for the most part. He has been tested 3 times for his biliruben level has been going up. (The poor guy had to keep getting poked in his foot) It got to be high enough where we are having to treat him with photo therapy. It is going ok and Gabe is doing really well with it. I was worried that he might be fussy because all he can wear is a diaper and has to be constantly in the light. We have to go get him tested again tomorrow. I hope it goes well. We love are little guy and so excited that he is a part of our family!!!

Arrival Of Baby Gabe!

Pumpkin Carving

Joe insisted he carve a mean face because that is how it is suppose to be. We had fun doing it though. He wanted to make sure we were able to carve the pumpkin before the baby came.

STILL a waiting game!!!

Well I am 39 and half weeks. My due date is on Friday and I still have no baby yet! I do not know went this little baby is going to come and I don't know how much longer I can REALLY wait. I shouldn't be so impatient because technically I have 4 days till he is "supposed" to come, but I have been so uncomfortable and feeling nauseated all the time. I went to the doctor today. He asked me, "How would you feel if you had to come to the doctor next week." ( this would be past my due date! I told him I would not be very happy and that I would be very uncomfortable. He then said that if the baby does not come by Friday he will try to induce me on the 28th. If he can't do it then it will definitely be by the 30th. So I guess that is some kind of good news. Well i don't even know if I would call it "good" but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. He just said hopefully it will be this week and I am really hoping sometime soon!

So apparently I do not post enough pictures. Unfortunately these are the only pictures that I have at the moment. I think we might have some of the baby shower so I will try to post them. But this a picture of me at 37 and half weeks. Still no baby:( Hopefully sometimes this week!

Almost There...

So I officially have 3 weeks left of this pregnancy. Personally, I hope that I don't go that much longer. I am starting to get more uncomfortable and not sleeping as good as I wish AND I have dark circles under my eyes! I think that am just getting prepared for when the baby comes because I know I will not be sleeping anyways. I seems like that is how it is supposed to work out. Anyways I am excited but a bit nervous as well. I am sure it will be fine. Joe keeps asking me when this baby is going to come. I think he is ready! He is going to be such a great dad!
Things have been going well in the pregnancy as far as we know and the doctor. I have completed all my test and they have come out well. We are now just waiting for out little guy to come. I think we have almost everything we need to be prepared for his arrival. That is a BIG thanks for Joe's family in throwing a shower for me (and my brother- in law's wife who is due about 3 weeks after us). It helped us out a lot on getting things we did not have. We were able to get a lot of nice stuff. The whole family was able to come in and we were able to spend some time together. It is always nice to get to see them.
The only thing we don't have for the baby is a name. I have no idea what we are going to do about that. It is just something we can't agree on. I hope the little guy has one before he leaves the hospital. I hear it can be a real pain if you don't. So if anyone has any more suggestions for names feel free to let us know!
To be exact his is 36 weeks and 5 days.

Update

So we have had a couple of changes over the past week. We finally moved out of our apartment after 2 years. YEAH!! We were glad to get out of there. I do not know if management could have gotten any worse but i won't go in to that:) It is so nice to be done with the packing and moving. I would get home from work and pack. Joe would come home from work move the stuff and then go to school! It really wore both of us out! We would get to bed late then have to get up early.

So Joe's parents have been kind enough to let us stay in their basement for a while. It will help us out a lot, especially when we have the baby and to help Joe be able to graduate faster. He won't have to work as much:) which I know he is glad. He works really hard framing houses and this will allow him to focus more on school.

Joe started school last week. Things seem to be going well for him. I think he is starting to like some of his classes more now that he is able to get more in to his major classes (construction management). As for me I am still pregnant and getting big! I am 33 weeks today. Our little guy is moving all the time. It is still fun to watch him kick not so much in the ribs. (I hear it only gets worse) I can't believe that he will be here next month. It is hard to believe and has gone by so fast! We are getting excited but I think we are a little nervous too. I am sure everything will be fine. We have started to get ready for him to come now if we could only find a good name! Any good suggestions???

Oh and we can not forget that football season has officially started!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!! I am very excited. Let's just hope Tennessee does not do nearly as bad as they did Monday. I won't go into the game I am not very happy! Oh well not much we can do about it now. GO VOLS!!!!!!!

8 Months Pregnant and Still Going.........

I keep getting asked to post more picture of me pregnant. So here is me 8 months pregnant in this picture. I already look like I could pop. Maybe its just the shirt? lol

What a day.....

So I always feel like I really don’t have anything good to blog about and well I don’t know if you would really consider this good. Worst case scenario you get a good laugh out of me or a boring story. ANYWAYS… yesterday I had my first experience calling 911. I don’t think I have ever been so nervous in my life.
It all started when someone was telling us at church on Sunday to be careful not to leave your windows open in your house because her neighbor’s house gotten broken into and had a bunch of stuff stolen. It creeped me out just a little bit just because it was in the neighborhood behind our apartment complex but when I got home from church I didn’t think much about it anymore.
Well the next morning I wake up just in time to go to my doctor appointment. Just before I was about to leave I got this really LOUD knock on my door. Usually I don’t answer the door but obviously I had just woken up and didn’t think much about it. Luckily it wasn’t too bad. So I answer the door and it is some random guy I didn’t know. He seemed shocked when I answered the door and then quickly was said, “Uh… does Juan live here?” I said, “No” and shut the door. It creeped me out a little especially when I saw his ginormous back pack but I didn’t do much after that and just headed on to my appointment. It then clicked about what the girl from church had said.
After my appointment I pull into my apartment complex and what do I see??? A cop car! I am thinking oh great! Someone broke into out apartment. No one did but just moments later my neighbor came over and told me that she had a guy this morning knock on her door really loud. He did it like 5 or 6 times. She was smart and didn’t answer the door. She looked out the window and not only did she see the creepy guy at the door but she saw someone squatting behind the tree in front of our apartment. Little did we know they were the same guy; I just didn’t see the second guy because the tree is directly in front of out door. She then proceeded to tell me that 10 minutes later she had another knock on her door. Again she didn’t answer and looked through the window. There was a big truck hauling a trailer and three guys in it. They eventually left.
My neighbor was explaining all this to me because she was the one who had called the cops. They got her report and left. But one of the main reasons she had come to talk to me was because she was leaving for the next hour was scared that she might come home to someone in her house. (She lives above me) I told her I would listen and watch to see if anything weird happened. Well just my luck…20 minutes later that big truck shows up again. They all get out, one goes to the trailer get something (I couldn’t see what it was directly) and they walk right in front of our apartment doors (they are right next to each other). Here I am freaking out. I had no clue what to do. I tried to call my neighbor, couldn’t get a hold of her so sure enough I just called 911. I had never done that before but my voice and body was shaking. I explained to the lady taking my call what had happened previously and what was now going on. She asked for a license plate number I couldn’t see it. She then asked for a description of the truck. I told her. She asked if they had any company writing on the truck. They didn’t. AT this time I was a little closer to my window to get a description of the truck. All of a sudden I see one of the guys looking at me (he could tell I was on the phone). I tell the lady. She says I will have the police come over talk to them and then talk to you. Of course, right when I got off the phone they get back into their truck and take off. This was just all too scary for me. One reason being if there was any construction going on at our apartment our manager always lets us know. So I knew they weren’t doing that. They might have tried to act like it. Maybe they weren’t doing anything but it still freaked me out.
Well 2 cops shows up at my apartment, the same one as before and another one. I talked to one of them for about 10 minutes and told him all that had happened. He wrote it all down the information that I told him. He said he would put the report in so the other cops around would know and that they would be patrolling the area for the rest of the day. They sat in front of the apartment for about 20 minutes. It made me feel a lot safer. I am thinking what if those other guys come back and try to get me since they saw me on the phone. Anyways they had just pulled away and luckily they were able to find the first 2 guys that knocked on the door just down the street. (Joe had just gotten home from work and saw them talking to two guys.) I went out and sure enough it was them. My neighbor had just gotten home so I was telling her all that happened. The cop then came over to us and asked how long we had lived there which was 2 years for us and 1 month for our neighbor. We told him and he said that the guys were looking for their friend Carlos who had lived there about a month ago. First off no guy named Carlos has lived next door, yet in our complex and 2 when he talked to me he was looking for Juan. Don’t you find that a little weird? Anyways he had gotten their info. He also searched their back backs. They had drinks and a box cutter in there. He asked if they had an association with the other guys. They didn’t know what he was talking about. The cop told him to stay away from the area and that his friend did not live there.
So that was my story, I think I was freaked out because of what my friend at church had told me. I didn’t know if those guys were working together. I was thinking what if they had the 2 guys go around and see who was home and then the other guys would break in. I always assume the worst. Anyways the rest of the day I was scared to leave.

7 months

So I have officially started my 7 month mark and I will tell you it definitely feels like it. Not only do I feel huge but it is so much harder to do things such as getting up from the couch and bending down to tie/buckle my shoes. Things are continuting to go well. I have been getting to feel a little sick these past few days. Hopefully it won't last too long. Anyways...the little guy moves a lot. It is fun to watch him. I have to go to get my blood drawn on Saturday to test for gestational diabetes. Let's hope all goes well.

On the 3rd of July ( I know it is a little late) we went to Bountiful to spend time with some friends and watch the fireworks.
So my sister and her family came to Utah over the holidays and we had a chance to spend the day with them. They wanted to go geocaching so that is what we spent the day doing. This is the site of one of the geo caches that we never found. Let me say that geocaching is alot harder than it sounds we spent like 3-4 hours doing it and only found 2 out of 6. I hope that they enjoyed it!

Meeting the Cougar!!!!!

While geocaching we decided to meet the BYU cougar. He was nice at first........
....but things went sour when the cougar mentioned something about Joe's weight!!!!
After a hard fought battle, Joe won the fight and was able to claim the cougar his own!!!!!

Geocaching

Well, we went geocaching the other day. If you have not heard of geocaching before let me tell you what it is. You get a GPS and look up the coordinates online of these little "caches", and then the fun starts. The GPS is great, it gets you closer and closer, until you are only hundreds of feet away. Holding the GPS out in front of you you move in on your prize. 400 feet away, you alter your directoin a little, 300 feet away, you fine tune your course a little more, 200 feet away, you are getting so close, 100 feet away, you can not wait to get the prize inside of the "cache." Soon you are no farther than 10 feet away, you think to yourself, maybe I can see it from here if I just look around a little. 2 feet away, and the excitement is bubbling up, you don't know what will be inside this little container, but you know it will be something good, and then all of a sudden the GPS tells you that it is 15 feet away, yet you have only moved 6 inches. You think to yourself, it must just be right here. As you look around you realize there is NOTHING there........
If you find that as anticlimactic as I do, than geocaching is probably not for you, however, If you enjoy getting your hopes up for nothing, finding nothing, and wandering around like a fool holding the GPS in front of you like a compas than you should probably try this wonderful thing called geocaching.
Actually it is a little better than this, but the first 2 times we did it, this was exactly how it ended up. We finally did find some that were still there, and were able to sign the log so others will know that we were there, and at some of them we were able to find prizes, granted you have to replace the prize with something you brought (if what I brought was better than I would just leave what was there in the "cache") but it is kind of fun, if you find it.

Lindsey's BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Well today is Lindsey's birthday, how exciting. Lindsey is turning 23 (which is the age she thought she would get married when she went to college, luckily Joe is so handsome and charming that he convinced her to get married earlier). Lindsey got some very wonderful gifts, but her favorite ones were from Joe (he knows her so well, she is sooooo lucky).
First off Joe got Lindsey an ice cream cake colored orange and white. And it may not sound very hard, but getting that cake was a trick. Joe went to Dairy Queen (his old stomping grounds) and asked if he could get an ice cream cake. So the boy goes back and gets this lady who makes the cakes, sounds fine, but it wasn't. The lady could not speak English, and Joe doesn't really "speak" Spanish. So luckily Joe was able to use his wonderful comunicating skills, and the little Spanish he does know to comunicate what he wanted, an orange and white cake. Then she asks him how he wants to decorate the cake, Joe went silent. He didn't even know how to describe decorating a cake in English, let alone Spanish. But Lindsey is sure lucky that Joe is so wonderful because he got some ideas across, and the cake turned out perfect. Without such a wonderful comunicator, this ice cream cake would never have happened.
Lindsey was also excited to recieve A NEW DIGITAL CAMERA!!!!!!!!!! It was just what she wanted and needed, Joe is so amazing. The only problem is that when Joe looked it up on line at costco.com it showed the same camera for thirty dollars cheaper, and with a 2gb memory card, but when he went to the store he found it was not so. So Lindsey can not open the camera, she has to take it back and order one from online, because then they can use those thirty dollars to go out to Macaroni Grill, and use the memory card to take pictures of how handsom Joe is.
Lindsey was also very excited to have a lot of family there for her birthday, she wished that members of her immediate family could have been there, but Joe's family is soooo good to her that she was just overjoyed. All and all it was a wonderful birthday, but to all of you that did not call Lindsey on her birthday, she is still a little upset with you, and you know who you are.

So a couple of friends have asked to see what I look like pregnant. Well guys... here it is. I am not very fond of this picture. Joe would not take the picture unless I smiled. So I just gave him one so he would take the picture. This is me at 21 weeks. I am now at 23 weeks and I swear I have already quadrupled my size or so it feels like. I will post a picture later to show.

I'll Try It....

So I have had some of my friends and family mention to me that I should start a blog. It always seemed very difficult but I thought heck I don't have much to do at the moment so I will see how it goes. This might be very interesting because I really have no clue what I am doing. So here goes my 1st attempt...
