Easter

I have tried to post this since early May for some reason blogger would not let me. I have a lot of catching up to do! ANYWAYS....
Easter weekend was great. We started off doing a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. A few of Gabe's cousins came down to participate as well. They all had so much fun getting their eggs. Gabe was SO excited about the candy. They served donuts and hot chocolate afterwards because apparently it is always cold on Easter! He was also very excited about the donuts. Anytime he pretends to go somewhere in his car he says he is going to get donuts! We spent the rest of the day with family. Just before we went to bed we realized we forgot to color eggs. I am glad we remembered it because Gabe LOVED it. He talked about doing it for days!
Easter morning we did a little egg hunt with Gabe. It was fun to watch him. We then went on a search for our hidden baskets. Once again once Gabe saw the candy he was shoving it into his mouth faster than he could chew it! Chocolate was drooling out of his mouth! He is a cute little guy. We got a cute little outfit for church but just before we went he found some RED juice somehow and it spilt all over him so we had to change. We had Easter dinner with my sister-in-law and her family. I am so grateful for such great family and friends to celebrate with.

He absolutely loved coloring eggs!

This is my favorite picture. I love Carter's face and I like that Gabe is looking at him!

Trying to get them to look at the camera was pointless especially with candy in front of their face.

Joe's Birthday

The weekend before Joe’s birthday I surprised him and took him to St. George for the weekend! My wonderful sister-in-law watched Gabe for us! (THANK YOU JENNY!) It was nice to get away from the cold weather. We spent the first day going to Snow Canyon, going to dinner and a movie. The second day was probably the highlight of the whole trip. We rented 4 wheelers for the whole day. I think we were out there for about five hours. We went out to the sand dunes, saw some dinosaur tracks and just explored. It was so much fun! The only bad part from that trip was I was not thinking and forgot to put on sunscreen. I got really bad sunburn! It hurt to move my arms for a good 2- 3 days. I have never got that bad of a burn before. Needless to say lesson learned! We went to dinner that night and we both were so exhausted we went to bed when we got home. Sunday when we woke up we stopped at the St. George Temple before we left. It was a great trip and I am so glad that we were able to go.
Joe’s actual birthday he had to work all day so Gabe and I took him to Magleby’s (his favorite). I think it was the first time we took Gabe to dinner with us. Yes, we have been spoiled by living with my in-laws. They are always so nice to watch Gabe for us. They happened to be out of town and all the babysitters had church (it was a Wed. night) so we took him a long. It was an adventure but it wasn’t horrible. We came home and had cake and ice cream. I hope you had a great birthday Joe! We love you!

Joe was too scared at first to go down this (it doesn't look as steep in this picture) hill. I had to show him how it was done. Then he was able. I was like his little test rat. Not sure if that is a good thing.

I took this picture for my phtography class. I had to take a picture with a slow shutter speed.

Cars & a Hoarder

CARS!!! Gabe LOVES cars! That might even be an understatement! He lives to play cars. It's the first thing he says when he wakes up in the morning and when he wakes up from his nap. He does it all day every day. If you can't tell from all the pictures below he likes to line up his cars (sometimes he parks them in a parking lot) He is also starting to line up his cars by size.
When he asks you to play cars with him he really just wants you to sit by him and watch. He does not like any one to touch them. He will share but he chooses the one you get. Sometimes I can get him to give me his favorite one! I don't mind that he loves to play cars. It keeps him occupied for a lot of the day. The only one thing that bothers me with him playing cars is his screaming. I say screaming because when he lines up his cars, if they are not straight and in a perfect line he gets MAD and starts crying. He will then ask me to help. I took some of his cars away for that very reason. Unfortunately the cars below are about 2/3 of the ones he own. I know you are probably thinking " Well why do you buy him so many cars?" I counted all the cars I bought him it was a total of 7.
Gabe is a smart boy! He knows his cars and he knows which ones are missing. (Most of the time, Especially if they are the Cars cars) Last week Gabe had lined up his cars and was running around the room jumping over them. His Uncle Mike took one when he was not looking. Just as he was jumping over his cars he stopped and said ." Hey!" He knew one was missing and started looking for it. If you ask him where one of his cars is he knows exactly where in the line he put it. He is a funny boy and would do anything for a car!

He doesn't only line up cars. He also hoards his toys and lines them up! Take a look. Enjoy!

La Jolla, Part 2

Here are the last few sets of pictures that were taken from our trip. They are so out of order. I thought I was being extra careful and putting them in order, apparently not!

One of the days we went to the Holiday Bowl Balloon Parade. It was actually pretty fun. Gabe really enjoyed it!

Another Day we went to the Mormon Battalion in Old San Diego. It was really neat. Not the best family picture. But I thought it was neat that they had so many things you could do.

I love this picture. I only wish that I would have snapped just a second later. There was a guy with his kids feeding Frito's to the seagulls. He was giving some to Gabe to try and feed them. After telling Gabe several times they are not for him to eat he finally fed them to the birds! He was more brave than I thought!

Last day at the beach.

Gabe's favorite balloon at the Parade!

Gabe loves is Uncle Pauly! He only wanted to sit on his shoulders and no one elses! Poor Paul! Thanks for being a good sport about it:)

While we were visiting the Mormon Battalion they had several hands on activities at the end. This was one of them and probably Gabe's favorite! He LOVES to play in water.

Panning for Gold. He had no idea what he was doing but he loved the water and all of his cousins were doing it.

We got to visit the San Diego Temple! I was so excited to visit. Isn't it beautiful! I wish I had time to go inside!

We had so much fun this trip! Thanks Aimee and Craig!

La Jolla, Part 1

The day after Christmas we left for California. We met up with the rest of Joe's family in La Jolla. We had an enjoyable time with everyone. It was nice that we were all able to be there! The weather was so much nicer than Utah. It was low 60's and high 50's. I was so glad we missed the big snow storm here in Utah. I am already so sick of the cold and snow!
Since I took so many pictures I will do a few different posts so it's not a long post. The first few days in CA was nice( especially the weather). We spent a lot of time outside at the beach. We also took family pictures.

Joe's grandparents stopped in one day and brought a pinata for all the kids. They had so fun much! I just love this picture. It's hard to take a picture of Gabe, especially when he is smiling.

Go Gabe!

On the way home from family pictures.

Sad boy! Daddy put him in time out. I am probably a horrible mom for posting this one!

quick family shot

This is one of my favorite pictures of the whole trip!

These next three are all similar but are too cute not to post them all! Gabe and his cousin, Bailey.
