Count Gabeula and an Update

Gabe looks like a little vampire. Check out those teeth. You might have to click on the picture to see it bigger. Every time I see this smile I just have to laugh.

Well not too much has happened since my last post. At the end of July I had the opportunity to go to TN to visit with my parents. It was a lot of fun to spend time with them and to see my siblings new nieces and nephews and my Aunt who I hadn't seen in like 10 years. I only wish I would have taken more pictures. I really didn't take that many. WE are now back in Utah. I really enjoyed being able to stay home with Gabe this summer and spending time with Joe's sister's family. I will miss them! Well Joe loved his internship and learned so much. He just started school yesterday and its looking like he will have a busy semester. I am still trying to get unpacked and situated. We are all doing well!

Birthday and July 4th

I had my birthday on the 29th of June. I had a wonderful day. I took Gabe to swim class then late on that day went swimming with him and my nieces and nephews. Gabe loves to swim and gets very excited about being in the water. Anyways… If you didn’t know yet, we are staying with Joe’s sister for the summer while Joe is doing his internship. Her whole family made sure I had a great birthday. I got presents and cards from the kids. They also made me a birthday poster. They even wanted to watch a movie with me and they told me to pick it because it was my birthday. One of her little boys even helped me make my bed. He said, “Aunt Lindsey, do you want me to help you make the bed.” I replied with, “sure.” He then went on to say that he needed to help me with that because it was my birthday and needed to be nice to me. I wish you could hear him talk, it’s very cute and funny. Here a a few pictures from my birthday:
This is the poster that my nieces and nephews made for me. They sure are sweet and thoughtful that's for sure.
These flowers were given to me by my two nephews. They were very cute when they gave them to me.

This is my yummy birthday dinner. It was one of my favorite pasta dishes that I make. Joe and his sister made it for me!

The delicious ice cream cake that his sister made. Oh it was yummy!!

Here is one of my gifts I got. I only hope it looks as good on me:)

I got a gift certificate to get a pedicure. Here are the results.

Here is my ginormous diaper bag that I got. I am still getting used to carrying it. It is nice though to have lots of room to put stuff in where it's not too crowded.

Here are a few extra pictures from the fourth of July. We decided that we would just spend the day together as a family. We didn’t do too much. While Gabe took his nap, Joe and I watched a movie and then we went swimming. If you can’t tell, Yes Gabe did get another haircut. It was growing so fast that we decided to cut it again. Well we used the clippers and used the biggest number that his sister had which turned out to be a four. When I went over it I took one look and said OH NO! Joe told me I had to go ahead with it and that it was too late. So my little boy now has a buzz cut. I have gotten a bit more used to it. I didn’t like it at first.

Some friends of ours gave us this float. Gabe loves it!!

Here is the buzz head!

Just a little update, Gabe is now crawling/scooting already trying to get into everything. He has been getting pretty fast especially if the computer is anywhere in site! He has 2 new teeth that make him look like a vampire. I don’t know where his two top front teeth went but maybe they will come sometime soon.

So here are a shot of his teeth. Sorry about the snotty nose. He has been sick. This is the only way I could get a shot of his teeth is by making him laugh. It took a while. He gets very mad at me when I try to open his mouth with my hand to take a picture.

This is a picture I got of him while I was trying to get a shot of his teeth. No luck but it is a cute one.

A picture of Gabe crawling to get the camera

Joe was trying to put Gabe to bed. He was watching TV and Gabe kept looking at me smiling so I just got the camera and took a picture.

A Night of Fun

Yep! That's tight. On Tuesday, Joe and I had the opportunity to go see the play Wicked!! I really had no idea what to expect BUT I absolutely loved it. Joe's sister had 2 extra tickets and asked us to go. They were great seats! I will have to admit that I had heard so much about Wicked but never really knew what it really was or what it was about. My sister finally told me back in May when she had went to go see it. I now know where the song "Popular" comes from. I had always heard people sing it but never knew what it was from! I thought the actors did a great job and the singing was done very well. Some of the characters voices were not as powerful but they still sounded GREAT! This play definately kept me laughing. The girl who played Glinda was very funny and was enjoyable to watch. So, thank you Aimee and Craig for letting us go! We loved it!!

First Haircut

Well If you haven't noticed from the previous post, Gabe had really long shaggy hair that was hanging over his ears. I finally couldn't take in any more, so I took him in to get a hair cut. He was not very sure of it at first. I could just post the video I took but that would take forever. When the lady first tried to use clippers it scared Gabe and he cried. He was fine when she used the scissors though. He did pretty good through the whole thing. Here a a few picture of the "big"event:)

Before we took him in

In the chair, not so sure about this

After haircut. He was sad I took his toy away because he wouldn't look at the camera.

Later on... after bath.

Update

Arizona has not been as bad as I thought.... well weather wise. I have been told it has been very mild and then the worst is yet to come. All in all I have enjoyed being down here. Joe is really enjoying his internship and I enjoy spending the days with Gabe. He is growing so fast and is fun to be with. He is always keeping a smile on my face and is keeping me laughing. Gabe has been moving around like crazy... rolling, scooting backwards, turning around in circles on his bum and tummy. He has been trying so hard to crawl. He can get to his knees but can not go forward. I think that he will pick it up pretty quick even though I don't know if I will look forward to him getting into everything. Here are a few pictures over the past couple of weeks.

This is right after Gabe's bath and before going to bed. Joe is singing to him. He loves when his daddy sings to him. He gets really quiet and stares and smiles at Joe. He definitely doesn't do that to me when I sing!

After bath time

Swimming

First time going swimming. I wasn't sure how he would react but he loved it just as much as his bath.

Swinging

After only being in AZ fore a a couple days... I left again to go to Minnesota. My sister Jenny and I flew up there to surprise my sister Toby. She was very excited when we showed up at her house. Anyways...we had a girls weekend (without my mom :( She was not able to come) and it was a lot of fun. This is the second time we had ever done this and we are hoping to do it once a year.We spent a few days at the Mall of America where we spent time shopping and riding the roller coasters, we got massages, and then went out to eat a couple of times and just got to spend time catching up and talking with one another. It was good to see both of my sisters.... Love you guys and miss you! Here are some pictures taken at Mall of America.

Joe flew up to Utah to meet us on May 23rd and then we headed down to AZ on the 24th. The drive actually went pretty good and Gabe did well. We stopped a couple times just so he could get out of his car seat. He got tired of being in there for such a long time. I don't blame him. The pictures below are from one of our stops. Joe stopped by some place off the side of the road so Gabe could play in the sand for the firs time. He liked it.

My Trip to TENNESSEE!!

Gabe and I were able to go back to Tennessee for 8 days a few weeks ago. I will have to say this trip brought up a lot of "firsts" for me which I will explain later. The purpose of the trip....the country music marathon! My brother, his wife, my sister and I signed up to run the half marathon. Training was a bit hard at time especially having a baby but it was able to work out and I was able to accomplish my goal of RUNNING the WHOLE time. It might not have been fast running but I ran the entire time. When i read the description of the course it said mostly flat. I will have to say that was a lie!! It was a lot of hills. I am grateful when I did my training it was going uphill. Not only was it hilly but it was HOT! I didn't really know how hot it was till after I finished the race. I ended up getting heat exhaustion. To make that story short I will just say I ended up being OK. This was my FIRST race ever. I will have to say this race was an amazing experience. Not only were their 35,000 people running the race but there were sure a lot of people cheering on the sides the whole way! It was really nice to have people encouraging you the whole way. It was fun to be able to do it with my family. Here are some pictures from the race. They are out of order but you get the idea.

After the race... at home

Right before the start ( Could I look more WHITE)

Anyways.... going back to "firsts"... So one night while I was in TN I was driving at night on the back roads. As I was driving I saw a dead opossum on the road (like always.... it is a common occurrence) I thought to myself as i saw it lying there “You know, I have never hit any animal before." No joke, five minutes later THIS ran out in the road and hit me.

YES a DEER... It couldn't have been a little opossum it had to be 50 times the size of it! I gotta be careful what I say! Talk about scary!! Luckily wasn't hurt. It shook me up a bit and I was crying, worried that I killed a deer. I think I was more worried about that than anything else. I do not think he died though. I saw him lift his head after I hit him. Not only did it leave some blood and hair on my door but it also left some costly damage to the car. When I got home, my brother and sister sure got a good laugh in! The trip itself was so nice! I love anytime I am able to see or spend with them. My parent sure enjoyed being able to see Gabe. Here are a few pictures of him I took while we were there.

Off to Arizona

We found out recently that we are going to Arizona. Joe got an internship with Layton Construction, but they did not know where they were going to send us until less than a week ago. Turns out it is Sunny Arizona. Lindsey is very excited because she LOVES the warm weather.
Joe is going to Arizona on Wednesday, and will start his internship on Thursday. Lindsey will stay in Utah with Gabe until Gabe's sixth month doctors appointment, and then she will come down to spend the summer. We are excited and looking forward to having Lindsey stay home with Gabe.
